A Brand Ambassadors Perspective. Meet Leslie! Read all about what she thinks it means to be a brand ambassador.

“What is brand ambassador?” This is a question I am often asked. To be frank, I also asked myself the same question before I became one. Through a friend, I learned that a brand ambassador is essentially a person who is hired to represent a brand in a positive light. From here, I was introduced to CEA Staffing and further learned about the opportunity. The more knowledge and experience I acquired, the more passionate I became about this profession. Here are some tips I learned along the way:

  1. Be Passionate.

Learn all about the company you will work for from the inside out. Study the product, the people, lifestyle, and the customers.

  1. Be Authentic & Outgoing.

It is essential to be original, in order to communicate with consumers with ease. Stand out with a friendly and sociable personality. Confidence will bring attention to you and most importantly, the brand attention.

  1. Bring Excitement!

You are building a loyal relationship between customer and brand. When introducing the product, make it a memorable experience for the consumer. This will lead to brand awareness and hopefully new loyal consumers!

  1. Be Reliable.

A client/brand needs a reliable and consistent person to represent the brand. Always show up on time, be ready to work, and smile smile smile!

  1. Listen To Consumers.

Consumers always have feedback and it is important to provide their opinions and thoughts to the client for their use. Their feedback in invaluable.

  1. Be Professional & Presentable At All Times.

First impressions are the most important and memorable. You will be influencing consumer’s perception of the product or service, be sure to represent the brand positively.

  1. Punctuality Is Key!

Tardiness and Cancellations are never tolerated. As a new BA, you do not want to give a bad impression. If you show up on time or earlier, people will notice and you will be more likely to be booked consistently.

  1. Rejection Happens.

Don’t be afraid to be rejected or have consumers who are not interested. Just move on to the next consumer.

  1. Build Relationships With Other Brand Ambassadors.

You will meet many people and make great connections with others in the events and promotions industry. This field is full of wonderful brand ambassadors who have been in the game for a very long time. Listen to their experiences, their advice, and make new friends!

My first event, I was nervous and had no idea what to expect. As time has gone on I have met so many friendly faces and had the opportunity to provide people with a memorable brand experience for so many amazing brands! Being a brand ambassador is truly rewarding in so many ways.  I continue to learn about the industry and take it all in. That’s the art, beauty and fun of being a brand ambassador!
